Theory Test Appointments
Before you can book a driving theory and hazard test date, you must hold a valid
UK Provisional Licence.
Note: you must pass your theory test before you can book a practical
driving test.

How to Book a Theory Driving Test
Theory tests can be booked:
- Online
- By telephone
- By post
Booking Online
To book a theory test online you will need:
- A valid UK driving licence
- A valid debit or credit card for payment
Booking by Telephone
To book a theory driving test over the telephone you will need:
- A valid UK driving licence
- A valid debit or credit card for payment

Booking by Post
For driving theory, book test by post using an application form which is available online or on request from your driving instructor. Payment can be made directly to the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) by cheque or postal order, but cash payment is not accepted.

Rescheduling, Cancelling and Non-Completion
A theory driving test date can be cancelled or changed online or by telephone without loss of fee provided you give a minimum of three working days notice. Inside three working days you will lose your test fee.
If the theory test is not completed for reasons attributable to you, you will have to take another test at your own cost.

Special Needs
If you require any special needs facilities at your theory driving test such as translations, reading or hearing difficulties, you will need to request these at the time of booking. You may need to provide a letter from your doctor or driving instructor.
