Requirements for Test Vehicles

The vehicle (and the trailer if a towing test) must comply with the test vehicle standards. If it fails to meet the minimum requirements your test may be cancelled.

The Vehicle
For standard 'Category B: Cars and Vans' practical driving tests, the vehicle must allow the examiner full all round vision. Some vehicles have limited vision, especially to the sides and rear and will not be suitable for the practical test.

The Trailer
If intending to take a Category B+E Trailer Towing Test, trailer requirements must be met:

Visibility to the rear should be possible only by use of external rear-view mirrors fitted to the towing vehicle.
