If you are considering Driving Lessons or Motorcycle Lessons, before driving or riding a vehicle make sure you know the rules that apply to you.
Before you start to drive
Make sure:
- You hold a valid, provisional driving licence for Great Britain or Northern Ireland
- Make sure the vehicle you drive is roadworthy, properly taxed and insured.
- It is important to learn safe driving from the start; bad habits are hard to break.
Sally's Approved Driving Instructors (ADI) have the experience and training to teach you properly. Learning safe driving practice from the beginning will improve not only your safety but that of other road users too.
You may practice your driving with an accompanying driver who must be over the age of 21 and must be holding a full licence, relevant to the category of vehicle you are driving for a minimum of three years.
Learner drivers must display 'L' plates in a position that is clear on the front and rear of the vehicle being driven.
Before Taking a Vehicle on the Road
The vehicle must:
- Be registered with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA)
- Have a valid vehicle tax disc displayed in bottom left hand of windscreen
- Hold a current MOT test certificate (if this is required)
As the driver you must have the minimum of third party insurance which covers your use of the vehicle. When using a tuition vehicle ensure that the minimum insurance is in place.
